The 87's will try to bounce back from a three-game losing skid with a pair of home games this week

The New Jersey 87's will look to shake off a three-game losing streak with a win against New York Applecore tonight at 8 p.m.

Ten days ago, the 87's snapped its 12-game winning streak with a 5-3 loss to the Renegades. The following day, they defeated Applecore 3-0 but had its win vacated due to a roster violation. Their most recent game was a 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers on Saturday.

It is the second time this season New Jersey has lost three games in a row. They now have a record of 29-9-2, and while the Jr. Flyers clinched first place, the 87's are four points away from clinching second place in the South Division.

Tonight will serve as a rematch between Applecore and the 87's. Nine days earlier, it appeared that the 87's won 3-0, but the win was vacated by the EHL Premier Division. When the 87's defeated the Renegades at home on February 11, Braxton Kilgore was involved in a scuffle that resulted in a two-game suspension. He sat out one game but played the following contest, and the team was penalized for the roster violation.

Some new faces will be playing tonight as well. Forward Michael Mania will be playing his third game with the 87's, and his second against Applecore. He'll be joined by defenseman Max Meisenbacher, who made his 87 debut against the Jr. Flyers. Tonight will be the Basking Ridge native's first game in Middletown.
