For the second time this season, the 87's are sending players up to the EHL

The New Jersey 87's are pleased to announce that defenseman Trevor Cear and forwards Austin Bell, Jack Lane, Kyle DePalma and Jake Ondrejko will all play for EHL teams this weekend.

Cear, who was called up for the Connecticut Oilers last week, will return with the team and play two games for them. Bell will join Cear and play for the Oilers on Friday, while Lane will make his EHL debut with them on Saturday.

DePalma and Ondrejko will also get to make their EHL debuts, as they will alternate games with the Bobcats Royals. DePalma will play for them on Friday while Ondrejko will suit up for them on Saturday.

As an expansion franchise that sits in second place in the South Division of the EHL Premier Division, the 87's are quickly putting themselves on the map as a reputable junior hockey organization. Including Cear's promotion last week, there have now been six call-ups between five different 87's players. Head coach Adam Houli couldn't be more pleased to see his them reap the benefits by getting the chance to play at the next level.

"I am very excited for our players and our organization. This is exactly what Matt (Kiernan) and I set out to do when forming this team and concept. Our goal is to make our players better both on and off the ice," he said. "As a first year club we take great pride in any call that comes our way for our players. This weekend is a great setting and this is why the EHL is above all. I look forward to watching our players in these games and showcasing them to all scouts."

The EHL and its Premier Division will have showcases this weekend in West Chester and Warwick, Penn. respectively. The proximity of the two events will allow the 87's to swap their players in and out of the lineup to play for New Jersey and their respective EHL assignments.

The 87's would like to congratulate Trevor, Jack, Austin, Kyle and Jake as they prepare to play at the next level in the EHL Showcase.
