Nathan Moore, Alec Osher and Matt Duffy each played a game and were a part of the 87’s strong defensive effort, limiting opposing teams to just five goals over three games. Forward Chris Erasmus also played his first EHL game with the team.
Moore, who currently has six points (3g, 3a) in 22 games with the EHLP team, suited up against the Vermont Lumberjacks. It was his third game with the EHL team this season and second game in the month of December.
Osher has 25 points (10g, 15a) in 22 games and is the captain of the EHLP team. He played against the New Hampshire Avalanche in the team’s 3-2 shootout victory.
Duffy and Erasmus played the final game of the showcase, a 3-0 win over the Boston Jr. Eagles. Duffy recorded an assist on the team’s third goal, he also has 18 points (1g, 17a) in 23 games with the Premier team so far. Erasmus also has 18 points (7g, 11a) in 17 games.
87’s head coach Adam Houli praised the call-ups and said it was testament to the EHLP team’s current success and ability to prepare its players for the EHL level.
“To have the ability to trust your premier team, and the players who have been developing in our system is a tremendous boost for our organization. We played in one of the highest scouted events on the East Coast against very tough competition with a lot on the line and these players were able to step in and do what they needed to do for us to be successful,” Houli said.
“It is the exact reason our premier team has been so successful and why every year we continue to find the right pieces to move up. It was a tremendous accomplishment for that team to have a few players called upon and be successful.”
The 87’s EHLP team is currently first in the South Division with a 20-3-0 record and went into the holiday break riding a seven-game winning streak. Moore, Osher and Duffy have played a tremendous part in the Premier team’s success this season, resulting in their call-ups to the EHL.
