Fresh off of the EHL team clinching home ice advantage in the first round of the EHL Playoffs, the New Jersey 87s are proud to announce an expansion of the organization’s pipeline up to the top.  

After achieving great success at the EHL level and capping last year off with an EHL Premier Championship, the club began their expansion this year with the addition of the 87s Elite program which brought a U18 team into the fold this year. The U18 team had a strong season in the Eastern Exposure Series and the Beast League, with a number of U18 players getting call-ups to play in the Eastern Hockey League.

With this past year's expansion success, the 87s will experience more growth this year in the form of teams at the U16, U15, and U13 level.  The 87s program will be fielding teams at the U16, U15, and 2009 U13 level.  These teams will each have 2 full ice team practices per week and 1 combo practice per week.  Each team will play a 50+ game schedule as part of the Eastern Exposure Series, Beast Tournament Series, and Tier 1 Hockey Federation.  In addition, all 87s Elite teams have a scheduling partnership with Black Bear Tier I teams.  In addition to the practice and game schedules, the U18s will receive 3 gym sessions per week while younger teams will receive 2 gym sessions per week.

Finally, the program will be debuting a full ice MIte program this coming season, the New Jersey 43s.  The 43 program will be centered around development for the advanced Mite hockey player.  

Coach Houli had the following comment about the organization's expansion, "When we started the 87's we always envisioned growing and each year we have been able to do something new and add on. This will serve as our biggest expansion and I could not be happier. I am very excited to see the future of our program."
