Gould set to play D-III hockey in Milwaukee as the 87's latest college commitment

The New Jersey 87's are proud to announce that William Gould has committed to play Divison III hockey for the Milwaukee School of Engineering for the 2020-2021 season.

Gould is a 21-year-old defenseman from Alexandria, Virginia and played for the 87's EHL team in the 2019-20 campaign. In 40 regular-season games, Gould recorded 12 assists while providing a solid physical presence from the team's blue line.

"William is a very steady puck moving defenceman who will be a good asset to MSOE," said 87's head coach Adam Houli. "He worked very hard this year, and playing NCAA Divsion III was his goal. I am very happy he was able to get what he wanted, he gave us everything and developed into a great player. In my mind this is a really good addition to MSOE and he will be a great player there."

The Milwaukee School of Engineering is a Division III program located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Competing in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, the Raiders are led by head coach Graham Johnson.

Gould spoke about his commitment to MSOE and how the 87's prepared him for the collegiate level. "Having played prep school hockey and repeating, I only had one year of eligibility left for juniors, so I knew I had to make it count. I knew right away that coach Adam and the 87's was the right path to take as I wanted to play NCAA hockey. They prepared me day in and day out for the next level and I wouldn’t have chosen any other route if I had the option to redo my age out year. This is the spot you want to be if you want to get to the next level," he said.

The 87's would like to congratulate William and his family as he prepares to advance his hockey career to the Division III collegiate level.
