87's set for EHL in 2018-2019

87's to move into the EHL next season

The New Jersey 87's are excited to announce that the team will play under the Eastern Hockey League starting in the 2018-19 season.

In its first year as an expansion franchise, the 87's are currently playing in the EHL Premier Division and have a record of 23-6-2.

Head coach Adam Houli, who has been working with assistant coach Matt Kiernan since 2016 to establish the team, said its a big step for the organization with player development playing a central role to the move.

"This is without a doubt, to date, our biggest success as an organization. It was our goal from the start to play in the strongest and most successful Tier III junior league in the country, the EHL," Houli said.

"Having done so in just a year is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to our staff, players, and off-ice staff . We now have a direct route for players to play NCAA college hockey.  We without question are very excited to begin this next chapter in our history, and we look forward to start sending 87’s into the NCAA."

The 87's play out of the Middletown Sports Complex and are affiliated with the New Jersey Titans of the Tier II NAHL. Working closely together, the two organizations are quickly turning Middletown into a premier destination for junior hockey players in the Garden State.
