87's  Set For Inaugural Season

The New Jersey 87’s have kicked off the 2017-18 campaign as players and coaches have begun its preseason training camp at the Middletown Sports Complex.

It is the 87s’ first season in New Jersey at the helm is head coach Adam Houli. With the regular season quickly approaching, Houli is confident that his squad can take the EHL Premier by storm.  That all starts, however, with a good training camp.

“Training camp is a great two weeks, it gives us the opportunity to see our handwork in the offseason on ice, the dedication and commitment by our staff has been tremendous,” Houli said.

The camp features a combination of local players from area as well as players from afar who will live with local billet families throughout the season.

Camp kicked off on with an introductory team meeting, followed by a combination of on-ice practicing and off-ice training.

“The first two days have been good, we have done a lot in terms of skill and tactical play. On Tuesday we will able to announce two local signings {Trevor Cear and Jack Lane} that helped bolster our defense and offense. As a team, we are finalizing our roster, I am excited for our depth. The boys have really bonded over the last two days and I am excited for the future.”

The first week of camp will conclude on Saturday with Titans Day, where players, billet parents and members of both the NAHL squad and Junior Titans will enjoy a barbecue at the Middletown Sports Complex.
